Whether you're a golf enthusiast, a budding entrepreneur, or simply someone who appreciates passion-driven success, this series is a must-read.

For the first installment, we sat down with Briston Peterson, Co-Founder of On Point Golf, the manufacturer of the USGA & R&A approved 3D ball marker.

Why do you love golf?

I grew up playing team sports, and once I stopped playing competitive soccer, I took up golf. I enjoy golf for several reasons; it's the only game that allows you to truly play against yourself, the conditions are constantly changing, and it allows for the opportunity of spending quality time with your friends.

What's in your golf bag? What other golf apparel and equipment do you love

I carry a custom On Point golf bag with TaylorMade driver through wedges, a Callaway Odyssey putter, and I use the single-line Oreo On Point ball marker.

Can you tell us about your background and how you became involved in the golf industry?

My involvement in the golf industry started with a conversation with one of my buddies. I wear prescription glasses and would struggle to read my coin or poker chip ball marker, so we began bouncing ideas off of each other on how we could improve the ball marker, and the rest is history.

Can you walk us through the challenges and opportunities you have faced while growing the company?

"Cracking the code" within the golf industry was our biggest challenge. As 1803 Golf knows, the major brands own the majority of sponsorships and the shelf space within traditional big box stores, so finding non-traditional avenues to grow the business was important. The 1803 Golf marketplace is one of the avenues that small businesses like On Point need to leverage to get their products in front of more golfers.

What are your company's future plans and goals?

Over the next few years, we will be extremely strategic on how and where the On Point brand will be seen. You can expect us to widen our available products, increase our ambassador program, and dominate the space between the putter head and the golf ball.

Can you share any upcoming products or initiatives the company is working on?

We just released a putter grip and putter cover lines this year, and you can expect an expansion of On Point into other products later in 2023. However, our primary focus is the three-dimensional ball marker with the removable coin.

Who is your favorite golfer, and why?

I have two - Max Homa, as I enjoy his social media posts, and Jim Furyk, who is our lead brand ambassador. Jim and his wife Tabitha have been excellent in helping grow the On Point brand, and we look forward to our continued partnership in years to come. Jim brought immediate credibility to our brand.

What is your favorite golf course, and why?

I am fortunate to have the ability to travel and play golf. I enjoy links courses that are closely connected with nature and sculpted out of natural dunes. Two of my favorite courses are Lahinch Golf Club and Ballybunion Golf Glub, both traditional links-style courses located on the southwest coast of Ireland.

How do you see the golf industry evolving in the next 5-10 years? How is your company preparing for these changes?

The golf industry will continue to consolidate. I believe we will see the traditional brands execute aggressive M&A strategies, opening the door for emerging brands to establish a niche in the golf market. On Point is well positioned in the space as our products are patented and traded, marked and approved for use according to the rules of golf as defined by the USGA and R&A. Our ability to custom brand the removable coin will continue to be a presence in the corporate, charitable and event space for years to come.
